Fun in Canton, Tx

This weekend my family came down! We decided to go over to Canton, Tx. They have First Monday's every month. They have all kinds of shops, antiques, junk, etc. It was so overwhelming, but fun. We will definately have to go back when there is more time. We felt like we had been run over 10x by the end of the day.
This is the tractor tran that took us to our cars. It was very "country"!!!

another good dove hunt

I went dove hunting again this Saturday in Clifton, TX with my two big cousins Clint and Dan. We stayed the night at my Aunt Betty and Uncle Larry's house Friday night because they live in Meridian, TX which is about 15 minutes from where we hunted. It was really good to get to see my cousins and my great aunt and uncle.
The morning hunt was great! We only slept for about 4 hours Friday night and I think you can still see that Chester is still sleepy in the picture above.
The total bird count after the smoke had cleared Saturday morning was 90 dove. We were able to get most of the dove as they were coming back from feeding to water. We sat on a peninsula and most of the birds fell in the water. Chester earned his dog food Saturday with well over 100 birds falling in the pond. He was flawless and retrieved everyone like a seasoned vet. We did well in the evening hunt as well, but only ended up with 67 dove. The final count... 157 dove in one day. Another great hunt.

I went on a dove hunt north of Cisco, and it was one of the best dove hunts I have been on in a long time. We killed 90 dove in the evening hunt. (I forgot my camera for the evening hunt and we had started to clean the dove after the morning hunt, so I only got one picture with just a few dove) Chester did not lose one bird that evening.
I have not had the opportunity to hunt with my uncle Stephen in a long time and we had a blast! I miss the old days when we hunted almost weekly together.
We did a little bit of varmint hunting late night and got three coyotes to come in, but we were unable to kill any. We did shoot two hogs Saturday night.
Slept on a trailer outside, underneath the stars and almost full moon, while the yotes yelped and howled all night and Chester growled as if he was going to protect me if he needed to.
The morning hunt was not as fruitful, but we did well with 30 dove.
In all it was a great weekend! It is amazing how being out hunting will renew your
spirit and wash away all the stress of day to day life.

Jeremy's Win over Hillcrest

Jeremy is currently coaching for the Parish Episcopal Panthers, (a small private school in Dallas, TX). He is the defensive line coach, and he is absolutely loving every bit of it!

Everyone has said to us, "this is your calling." I totally believe that and Jeremy feels like he is pleasing the Lord by taking on this position. OK, I will let him tell you now about his biggest win so far this season.

We are currently undefeated with three wins. Our first game of the year was against ESD (Episcopal School of Dallas) the number 1 private school in all of the DFW area. We beat them 50-27 with 541 yards rushing and only two scores against our starting defense. Our second win came against a public 3A School in east Texas called Kemp. We as a defense pitched our first shutout of the year with a 38-0 win. Our most recent beat down was against Hillcrest which is a very large public 4A team here in Dallas with over 1700 students at there high school. We only have 372 students in the whole school 1st-12th grades. We physically brutalized them in every aspect of the game with the final score being 38-21, another win for the good guys.
